whats a good FREE Firewall for a Mac?

it’s my first mac, their usage is growing.. and i don’t want to take chances with viruses because this MacBook Pro i have is going to be really valuable to me.

so whats the best FREE firewall out on the market right now?

and i know some of you may think free does not equal good quality, but from my past experience with PC, the free soft ware 90% of the time performed better then most payed for stuff. the exception being design software..
i thought they might.. but i cant find it even with the link you posted. the words firewall are not present, and i have OSX1.5. (this is my first mac) i know they have few viruses.. but that’s mainly because coders aren’t going to waste their time creating viruses for 8% of the market lol.

but also, its usually the factory firewalls that get bypassed first. but a good third party firewall from places like ZoneAlarm will block the nastiest of bugs.. lol
just checked lavasoft.. the only free thing they have s a 30day trial :/

And another thing… I think it’s like for every 10 virus’ for PC, there is like 1 for mac…

Go to lavasoft.com–the best free firewall, period, and it inhibits popups. Also install Firefox as your browser–no popups and it comes with the free UVG antivirus, which is self =-scanning and self-updating. From download.com or majorgeeks.com get a free antispyware program like spybot–there are reviews. You are now certifiably bulletproof without spending a cent. I also installed toolbar.google.com and toolbar.yahoo.com for quick settings and other goodies. My partner and I use POWERBOOKS, and we’ve never had a minute of trouble. My Dell, which is gathering dust except for using some files and Word, is also free of all malware from using what I’ve recommended and has given me no trouble at all.
