For good, free and recommended security programs, please go here

I recommend AVG as an anti virus, although eTrust’s 12 month free trial is excellent (I’m using it and am extremely impressed).
If you need other programs, go for Zone Alarm firewall, AVG anti spyware (formerly Ewido) and SpywareBlaster.

If you click on the names in that list I gave you and it will take you to the official download site.

Please ensure that you keep them all updated for full protection and check for any updates when you first download them.

I also recommend AVG. Why pay if you don’t have to? Also, install Spybot: Search and Destroy and Spywareblaster - they are both free to download and will protect from spyware. I’ve used all three programs and have yet to get infected.

AVG free edition. It is updated often, costs nothing upfront, and no charge for updates, ever. download.com has it.

according to me norton antivirus is the greatest and most updated software in the world. but the problem with norton antivirus is that it takes up too much system resourses. so for home purpose mcafee viruscan is very good. its virus detection capability is very strong and one can update it in a flash.

Give up using Windows, and install Linux on your computer. Linux is immune to all viruses, malware, spyware and adware.

Go to to find out how to get all the popular flavors of Linux…

…then do an image search for Linux screen grabs on Google.

    BE COOL - GET LINUX
