What is the best microphone and software on the market for recording vocal music on the PC?


I want to record operatic vocals onto my PC and I want GOOD quality. I have a creative labs soundblaster audigy 2 live value soundcard. Any information will be helpful!

    Get a Samson Co1U condensor mic or a CO3U condensor mic. They’re USB so you don’t need a high end sound card.

    Download audacity. It’s a free audio recording program that’s comparible to the expensive software like soundforge.

    If you want to get professional quality recordings, I recommend Pro Tools ( ) . Pro Tools is the industry standard in professional recording and is now available at consumer pricing (around $250 ). You will need to use a Pro Tools compatible audio interface instead of your soundblaster (which was not made for pro audio recording ). You can find Pro Tools bundles here:
