I’m from Romania. I run a web design business with 4 employees and all the software legaly bought (Macromedia, Corel etc.). However, in Romania 70% of the web design market is dominated by freelancers that usually use no licensed software (id, pirated software). It means that 70% of websites, are pirated. Including outsourcing for US / EU! This is why I contemplate the opportunity to open a consultancy / law business for companies that want to buy web design programming services from Romanian market. However, I don’t know who should pay, under the EU law, for piracy: beneficiary or freelancer?… If freelancer, such a business would have 0 chances to develop. But if companies, this can be a good business opportunity. The lawyer can act as a debt collector on behalf of pirated companies or selling some legal, piracy free, certificate… just thoughts.
